Nazmul Robel And Mohammed Heramon Death ,4 pronounced dead in head-on crash in Claverack
CLAVERACK, N.Y. — A tragic head-on collision on State Route 9H Monday night claimed four lives and left three others critically injured, according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies responded to the scene just before 7 p.m. Initial investigation indicates a 2009 Toyota Prius, traveling northbound, crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2025 Toyota Crown.
The driver of the Prius, Nazmul Robel, 29, of Loudonville, and two passengers, Mohammed Heramon, 60, and Fahim Halim, 25, both of the Bronx, were pronounced dead at the scene. Two other Prius occupants, Fatima Akter, 33, and a 1-year-old child, were transported to Albany Medical Center in critical condition.

In the Crown, the driver, a 24-year-old Brooklyn man, was treated and released. His passenger, Julia Ritchie, 62, of Stockport, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash prompted a full closure of NY 9H between Spook Rock Road and NY 23B for approximately four hours.
